Raghava Lawrence reveals his miraculous escape from dangerous disease

Raghava Lawrence received the Mother Teresa Award in an event to commemorate the 108th birthday of the Saint. The award is given to people who are active in social service and the actor-director is this years recepient for his continuing philantropic activities especially in supporting physically diabled children through his trust.
Raghava Lawrence brought his mother along with him and while speaking stated that he was afflicted by a brain tumour when he was 10 years old and his mom used to carry him for many kilometers from Royapuram to Stanley hospital for treatment. He recalled emotionally that even though they did not have money to afford a bus or auto his mother endured the hardship to save him and thats why he is alive today.
On receiving the Mother Teresa Award, the 'Kanchana 3' hero stated that he is honoured and to show his respects he would quit even social drinking of alcohol from this day. Lawrence assured that he will continue giving away his money and wealth for the poor and needy. The award was jointly given by Congress Leader S. Thirunavukkarasu and PMK Leader Anbumani Ramadoss.
