Raghava Lawrence the multitalented entertainer is celebrating his forty- fifth birthday today and any youngster who looks at his growth from a nobody to where he is today will surely be inspired by him. He had little education after being afflicted by a brain tumour as a child and there was a question mark whether he would even make it but he did with what he attributes to the Lord Raghavendra's grace and hence he attached him to his name.
Lawrence's first entry into the film world was as a car cleaner to fight master Super Subbarayan and is said to have caught the eye of none other than Superstar Rajinikanth who not only encouraged him to become a dancer but also procured a union card for him.
From humble beginnings Lawrence got noticed as a group dancer and later Megastar Chiranjeevi put his confidence in him and gave him the chance to choreograph dance for him and that was the biggest break. Lawrence then choreographed dance for all the big stars including Rajini, Kamal, Ajith and Vijay and his appearance alongside Vijay in a song in 'Thirumalai' attracted filmmakers who wanted to cast him.
Raghava Lawrence's first film as a hero was the legendary director K. Balachander's 100th film 'Paarthale Paravasam' and he starred as hero in a number of films. When some of his films did not do well Raghava rediscovered himself as a bankable star by turning director with 'Muni' in 2007and there was no looking back from there.
Lawrence directed three sequels to 'Muni' under the 'Kanchana' series and all became one of the biggest blockbusters of all time not only in Tamil but also in Telugu and Hindi. Currently he has completed directing his first Bollywood film 'Laaxmi Bomb' starring Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan which is making huge waves in the industry and is slated to stream on Disney plus Hotstar on November 9th.
Keeping aside all his achievements in the field of entertainment Raghava Lawrence stands tall for his philanthropic activities which is winning much more admiration for him. He heads a trust that takes care of hundreds of abandoned children and empower them with education. During the Chennai floods and Jallikattu protest he contributed with his presence as well as relief measures.
To top it all during the coronavirus pandemic Raghava Lawrence donated more than five crores rupees to various organizations which is the highest amount by a large margin among the film industry stars. Here is wishing the big hearted Raghava Lawrence the happiest birthday and many more years of good health, peace and success to help many more people in need.
