Since this morning Police personnel have been trying hard to remove the protesters who have been staying in Chennai Marina for the past six days protesting for Jallikattu.

Police have started forcibly removing protesters who refused to leave the place. All the roads leading to Marina have been blocked. Police resorted to lathi charge in many places to disperse people trying to reach Marina.

Apart from thousands of commoners, GV Prakash Kumar and Raghava Lawrence tried to reach Marina but they were also stopped by the police. Despite police requesting them to go back. the two celebrities are staying in the same place and they are stubborn in reaching Marina to support the protesters.

In certain places police had to hurl tear gas at supporters as some miscreants hurled a stone at a police officer.

The Royapuram bridge in North Chennai is entirely blocked by the police and the supporters have started protesting there itself.
