Raghava Lawrence's mass character in 'Chandramukhi 2' revealed

On April 9th out of the blue came the announcement from Raghava Lawrence that one of his next projects is 'Chandramukhi 2' directed by P. Vasu and produced by Sun Pictures. He had donated the entire advance money for the film amounting to rupees three crores to the coronavirus relief funds of the state/central governments, FEFSi, Dancers Union, and the people of Royapuram.

Director P. Vasu in his recent interview to a leading Tamil weekly has revealed that 'Chandramukhi 2' will be based on the title character and the evil king Vettaiyan played by Jyothika and Rajini in the original and will tell the backstory of what happened between them and why they are enemies. In the 2005 film it will only be a small episodic drama created by the psychiatrist Saravanan and will end after the song 'Raa Raa'.

According to Vasu Lawrence will be playing the character of Vettaiyan and how he and Chandramukhi affect the lives of a new family that come and stay in the palatial bungalow is what the screenplay is all about. The veteran director has further added that how he tailored the script to suit Rajinikanth in the first part he has also written 'Chandramukhi 2' to completely satisfy Raghava Lawrence fans. The rest of the cast and crew details will be announced once the project goes on floors after the coronavirus pandemic ends.
