Talented actress Radhika Madan's long awaited film 'Shiddat' has finally released after being on hold for a really long time. Radhika shares screen with Sunny Kaushal in this romantic drama and in a recent interview, she talked about the characters she and Sunny played. She also shared how makers were concious about not glorifying any toxic relationship traits through the film.
Talking about her character Kartika, Radhika said, "Kartika has some shades of grey as well. She has complicated the concept of love so much that she doesn’t know what to do with it when it comes her way. In the world of dating apps where relationships start with swipes, and we want one person to tick all our boxes, we are not leaving enough room for love to bloom."
A wrongly executed romantic film can glorify and propagate some really toxic things. Characters can come off as misogynistic, stalkers or something like that if not written properly. Talking about that, Radhika said, "The problem is not with playing a toxic character, but in glorifying him/her. With Jaggi, we ensured that he is pure. He isn’t a stalker. He is child-like, and is not afraid to be vulnerable. The motivation of the character is important.”
