It has been confirmed. Superstar Rajinikanth`s upcoming film with director Ranjith will have the Ahalya` girl Radhika Apte as the lead heroine.

News about Radhika Apte being approached to play the lead lady role opposite Rajinikanth in this film that is going to be produced by Kalaipuli S,Thanu was making rounds for the past few days. Now a reliable source close to the unit has said that Radhika Apte has accepted to take up the most coveted offer of pairing up with Rajinikanth and she will soon sign the contract.

The film`s shooting was planned to begin in the first week of August in Malaysia and it will go as planned if the strike called by the Tamil Film Producers Council that begins from today is withdrawn within that time.

Rajini reportedly plays the role of a aging don in this film that will have Attkathi` Dinesh and Madras` Kalaiyarasan in important supporting roles.
