Since there's a lot of competition in Bollywood, it is not uncommon for actors to lose out on projects for one reason or the other. Actress Radhika Apte, who is known for her impressive work in indie and OTT projects, recently revealed how she felt after being replaced in some films by actresses who looked a certain way.
During a conversation with Hauterrfly, Radhika stated, "Recently, I did feel depressed before Covid-19. I was a bit depressed because I just realised that a lot of work that I wanted to do was going away to people who had done a lot of jobs (points to face). And they looked a certain way. The image of sexy was just that.”
“Or you know, younger people were taking things so that’s when I actually felt depressed,” the actress added. Radhika then went on to express her displeasure about people who undergo various cosmetic surgeries in order to look better for their age.
She said, "What I’m really struggling with is people who are unable to combat age, especially in the industry with people going through surgeries. I know so many of my colleagues who have gone through so many surgeries to change their faces and bodies. I am a bit tired of that and find it very challenging.”
