Prabhas and Pooja Hegde's Radhe Shyam is scheduled to release on January 14. While makers are keen on releasing the film in theatres, reportedly, an OTT giant has approached them with an offer of Rs 400 crore.
Makers of Radhe Shyam recently confirmed that the film will release worldwide on January 14. But, as theatres remain shut or operate at 50 per cent capacity in different parts of the country, speculations of a direct OTT release was doing the rounds on the internet. Streaming giant Netflix has approached the makers with a massive offer apparently. Bu the makers are yet to strike the deal.
Meanwhile, Radha Krishna Kumar, the director of this film has penned an emotional note on his Twitter handle. He wrote, “Times are tough, hearts are weak, minds in the mayhem. Whatever life may throw at us - Our hopes are always High. Stay safe, stay high - Team #radheshyam”. The post comes at a time when speculations are rife that the release of the film might be delayed owing to the worsening COVID-19 situation.
On the other hand, SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which was scheduled to hit the theatres around the same time as Radhe Shyam, has also been postponed. Now the buzz is that Radhe Shyam might also get postponed given the rising cases of Omicron variant of Covid-19.
