Action director Nick Powell has worked on the movie, which has cost Rs 300 Cr. When there are no fights, what was the action director doing? Action in the context of movies has got a wider context. Most commercial entertainers have a narrow concept of 'action' because they are formulaic, driven by routine tropes, elevation shots, and heroism.
But 'Radhe Shyam' seems to be a different film that way. The ship episode in the climax has no fights but there is so much action going on in each frame. It will be exciting to see how director Radha Krishna Kumar, production designer Raveender, VFX team led by Kamalkannan, and of course Powell have made the episode memorable.
'Radhe Shyam' has the fullest potential to redefine how the audiences perceive 'action'. It's not all about dishum-dishum, loud BGM and bloodletting always. It can be beyond.
Starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde in the lead, the film hits the screens on March 11.
