In this interview, 'Radha' star (May 12 release) Lavanya Tripathi fields questions about her role in the movie, why she signed up for the entertainer, how she sees success and failure of a movie, what ticks for her, so on and so forth.

Radha is a unisex title:

Radha is a common one for both the sexes. The hero as well as me are Radha in this film. As a college student, I am not very different on the surface. But I come with more than one look and has certain typical characteristics. I can say that I am a total commercial actress in this movie. Numbers as different as modern, massy and classical have been done by me here.

Situational comedy is the raison d'etre:

I accepted the film because I found the twist in the story to be a high point. Besides a lot of situational comedy which is hardly forced, there is scope of emotions thrown in between. My character itself starts looking different after a while. 'Radha' is both suspenseful and dramatic.

A lovely co-artiste:

Sharwanand was lovely to work with. While he is shy and reserved off screen, once he is in front of the camera, he becomes a different person. I loved him in the song 'Khaki Chokka'.

Failures don't affect me:

I see a film as a film. Even a huge hit like 'Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy' didn't change my personality. How better I have performed is what I look at. Hit or otherwise, it doesn't quite matter. I take pleasure in doing my job.

I'm a zero every time:

Whenever I start doing a movie, I start on a blank page. I do what is asked of me. If I feel uncomfortable doing something, say, a kissing scene, I suggest that it be done differently. I am like a student always. If I am not the director, I am not supposed to make decisions (about what is to be done).

Money doesn't matter:

(Not just box office numbers), money too doesn't matter. I won't mind doing a movie without charging fee if it's a great script.

Secret of beauty:

One has to be confident inside. Only that can bring out ones beauty. One may see skin doctors or try cosmetics, but nothing works if you are not confident. Your confidence makes you look glamorous even if you are wearing ordinary clothes.

Father then, son now:

Working with Naga Chaitanya has been great. Technically, it was with him that I acted first in 'Manam'. I am hoping that, just as I and Nag sir were accepted in 'Soggade Chinni Nayana', they will accept me and Chaitu too. I am looking forward to start working on my next schedule. (The duo are doing a thriller).
