Ravi Kishan, the Bhojpuri actor who grew in popularity in the Telugu States with Allu Arjun's 'Race Gurram', will be contesting on a BJP ticket from Gorakhpur parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

The actor, who has done movies such as 'Kick 2', 'Supreme', 'MLA', and 'Saakshyam' in Telugu, is lucky to have secured the Gorakhpur ticket. The constituency is a BJP stronghold. Secondly, he was a disaster in 2014 when he contested on a Congress ticket.

Ravi Kishan is expected to win the elections with the support of Gorakhpur mutt and the Nishad community, among others. The only challenge is that the SP-BSP alliance had won big in last year's by-poll in this constituency. But since it's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's forte, the BJP won't take it lightly this time.
