What is it all about?

Race 2 - B-town Men in White Abbas Mustan the desi king of thrills most expected follow up of their highly successful `Race' is more attractive, gorgeous and flashy but it fails to get the expected kiss from the audience..

Race which came in 2008 had the required looks, attitude, thrills and chills for an extended affair, success of such a movie is an offer for a sequel which the producers Taurani couldn,t refuse and `Race 2' happened.

Abbas Mustan - The veteran hand in bollywood's thrill and chill department was another guarantee of paisa vasool entertainment for the masses.. we all knew that the Burmawala brothers who are always fascinated by the thrills and chills of west will not make any new ground in cinema with Race 2 but it will again establish their place in Bollywood.

The performance of `Players' at the box office added more responsibility for the Burmawala duo but alas the producer Tauranis have risen to the occasion with top notch production values but writer and the director Shiraj Ahmed and Abbas Mustan have failed to match the expectations of all' in fact the veteran lovers of thrill and chill cinema are below their own set standards..

The Story

Starting from where it ended Race 2 starts off with a murder and introduction of John Abraham and Deepika Padukone in Turkey where he meets the man on a mission Ranveer (Saif Ali Khan) who befriends them and series of cross and double cross occur between John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez while Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel joining the fun..

What to look out for

Abbas Mustan most awaited follow up certainly looks more attractive. Its flashy, gorgeous and has a perfect start much to the delight of all..there's sexy legs, chase, guns and women, crossing, double crossing every now and then to keep the viewer stuck to his seat.

Abbas Mustan and Shiraj Ahmed are in full command. Saif and John do a fair job. Deepika Padukone looks delicious and does a fabulous job so is Jacqueline Fernandez
who shows improvement as an actor.

Ravi Yadav lense work is extraordinary, Husain Burmawala editing is sharp, Salim Sulaiman background score is peppy. Action is brilliant choreographed.

What not

Race 2 is a cinematic dazzle for the eye with a perfect start and interval point but after that the writer director ignore the relishes of a tight gripping sequences with shock values and surprises to continue the interest and the climax takes its own time. Plus the visual effects are childish.

Anil Kapoor, Ameeesha Patel, Aditya Pancholi are wasted. Pritam Chakraborty music is a let down as compared to the original with only one hit number `party' song. Bipasha is there only for one scene and the sequence between her and John are mysteriously missing from the film.

Conclusion: Race 2 is another case of style overpowering substance. But more alarming is the fall of Burmawala brothers own set standards as sultans of b-town thrill and chill cinema and that too after giving a promising start. All B.O. success don,t qualify for follow ups Race had all the potential. Race 2 will have to bank on the weekend holiday and the generous audience flattered by the gripping first half to help Race 2 meet
its box office expectations.
