Raavan v/s Raavan

Eh this sounds strange but its true. Sometimes we become our own enemy and this might be the case with Mani RatnamÂs forthcoming flick ÂRaavan starring Aishwarya, Abhishek and south star Vikram.
Come June 18 and ÂRaavan wil be the unique case of a film competing with none other then its mirror image. ÂRaavan is simultaneously made in Hindi and Tamil and both are releasing on the same date. The modern take on Ramayan in its Hindi version stars Abhishek Bachchan as Raavan, Govinda as Hanuman, Aishwarya as Seeta and South star Vikram as Ram. The fact is that Tamil films having much bigger clout in overseas territories may affect the prospects of the Hindi version. The Hindi version is already facing problems with KFCC (Karnataka Film Chamber Of Commerce) which has allowed only twenty four theatres to screen the film.
In the Tamil version, Vikram is playing Raavan and that may add more salt to the wounds of the Hindi version where Abhishek plays the title role and is having mighty expectations from it.
Well we keep our fingers crossed till June 18 and let the Âjunta decide.
