Megastar Mammootty starrer Peranbu, directed by Ram, the maker of critically acclaimed movies like Katrathu Thamizh, Thanga Meengal and Taramani, has been making waves with its interesting promos and making videos and is gearing up for a release worldwide on February 1.

With a week left for the release, director Ram has shared the interesting coincidence in the release date of Peranbu. The director revealed that it was seeing the 1991 Malayalam movie Amaram directed by Bharathan that he had become a die-hard fan of Mammootty and the movie was released on February 1, adding that releasing Peranbu on the same date gives him immense happiness.

Bankrolled by PL Thenappan, Peranbu revolves around the life of Paapa, an autistic child and her father Amuthavan, and the situations they undergo. The movie was screened in various international film festivals winning overwhelmingly positive responses. Peranbu also stars Thanga Meengal fame Sadhana, Anjali and Anjali Ameer.
