Like several others actors, R Madhavan also started his career with the image of a romantic hero but he is one of the few who can still sell that image in his early fifties. Madhavan, who was seen in a romantic avatar in 'Maara' earlier this year, finds it hard to believe that he is still considered and loved as a romantic actor.

In a conversation with PTI, Madhavan talked about this perception of people and said, "I'm going to be 52 and more grey. It almost looks funny, I don't know how else to react to it when I see a mother and daughter both react the same way to me. I am just very grateful and I am blessed."

Madhavan has a pan Indian following since he has done impressive work in multiple industries throughout the country and talking about that, he said, "It's been a very blessed journey for me, I've had the fortune of working with some of the best in the industries and icons, which I don't think anybody can plan. No producers can plan that for their son and I don't have anybody in the industry, but I think I was fortunate enough to get an audience and actually get to work with the likes of them."
