"My geeky laugh is a trade secret" - Akshay Kumar

  • IndiaGlitz, [Saturday,October 28 2006]

Akshay's act as a naive Agastya Rao with the trademark goofy laugh seems to have caught on everyone's fancy. Right from children to college students are mimicking the goofy laugh and it seems the trend is catching on big time. Even Sajid Nadiadwala is incorporating the goofy laugh in the latest promos of Jaan-e-mann, since it has become so popular.

But between all this Akshay has maintained a low profile and let his performance do the talking in Jaan-e-mann. Every critic has raved about the performance of Akshay as Agastya Rao in Jaan-e-mann. It has also been said that Akshay has conveyed his emotions with such subtlety and finesse that its no wonder his movies are one of the biggest revenue earners worldwide."

Some other positive words for him go as, "Akshay has convincingly played a shy, clumsy, giggly & tongue-tied geeky suitor to perfection without becoming a caricature & transforms into a suave astronaut but retains certain awkwardness in his character. A truly laudable performance."

Truly Akshay seems to be balancing his box-office status quite well. And those who have appreciated Akshay's performance in Jaan-e-mann have to just wait & watch for his next film with Nagesh Kukunoor.

When specifically asked about his goofy laugh gimmick and where did it pick it from, Akshay said, "I'm a keen observer of people, but it's a trade secret from where I picked it up. A lot of geeks laugh like this in real life. Yeah I know somebody, who does..…!"

Though Akshay is not in the country because he is shooting in Dubai for Anees Bazmee's WELCOME, he sneaked in along with his son in a theatre in Dubai to see Jaan-e-mann!
