Filmmaker Anand L Rai's soon to be released film 'Atrangi Re' has garnered a lot of flak for the vast age gap between its male and female leads. Actress Sara Ali Khan, who is about 26 years old, will be seen in romantic relationships with Dhanush and Akshay Kumar, who are 12 and 28 years older than her. In an interview few weeks ago, Sara brushed off the issue by stating that age, gender etc do not matter in cinema.

However, she has again addressed the issue in a recent interview and this time she said that it is upto the director what he wants to show in the film. Sara told Quint, "I feel that as ultimately, films are the directors medium. You have to trust. I, as an actor, trust my director with everything, including with the casting. I believe–if we’re talking about this film in particular–then Aanand ji has thought about this cast, and has cast them accordingly."

Sara concluded by saying, "And if a filmmaker had to do the reverse, he had enough conviction and if he had actors are convinced in his conviction, then that would happen as well. As long as filmmakers envision it, and actors believe in that vision, I don’t think there is anything more to it than that."
