It was a different Independence Day. Normally a host of movies would grace the theatres and would be a gala time for cine buffs in Tamil Nadu.

Unfortunately this time it is not so.

Movies including Aran and Thimiru had an early release.

Now it is back to Thimiru and Aran to fight it out at the box office.

By2, it is said, couldn't make it to the theaters as planned yesterday.

With no other movie making it to the theatres, a host of Hollywood films are being dubbed and released here. Also Sharukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Kabhi Alvida Naa Kahena has opened big in Chennai.

Obviously the youth crowds are thronging to these movies.

Come September, a host of movies are expected to hit the screens and normal service will be restored for Tamil films
