A long time ago, Channel [V] broadcasted a show that enthralled the audiences to the core which has now been made into a full length feature film in Technicolor, titled ÂQuick Gun MuruganÂ. The title might strike a thought because it is the same as the old. This time, the comic hero is all gearing up to save the veggies of the world from the menacing macho Mcdosa. The villain wants to eradicate sambhar and overrun the small village with beefy dishes, but not when Quick Gun Murugan is there to rescue.
Rajendra Prasad, TollywoodÂs popular star enacts the character opposite Anu Menon, Lola kutty of Channel [V]. Shashank Ghosh is the man who envisaged Quick Gun Murugan. The humor filled flick was screened at the London film festival which was showered with praises by the audience. The makers of the movie were delighted to see such wonderful response for their end product.
Shashank Ghosh made the character in a South Indianish style yet possessing features of the wild wild west to make him look modern. He calls it as a tribute to the South Indian genre of movies and is eager to see the response from the western audiences once it hits the screens.
Other Indian films in the festival include Nandita Das' Firaaq, Santosh Sivan's Tahaan, Ketan Mehta's Rang Rasiya and Shyam Benegal's Welcome to Sajjanpur.
