Director Gautham Vasudev Menon has directed the web series Queen which is based on the life of former chief minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa, and AL Vijay is directing the biopic of Jayalalithaa named Thalaivi.

J Deepa, the niece of Jayalalithaa had made an allegation that the two directors have not sought permission to make the biopic of Jayalalithaa and that they'll tarnish the image of the former chief minister, and had filed a case in high court seeking a ban.

Gautham Menon had responded that Thalaivi doesn't have any reference to Deepa and said it was a fictional story and AL Vijay's team had responded that Thalaivi was based on a book of the same name and nobody has banned that book. Following this, the high court has ordered the teams to have a disclaimer that the movies are fictional, and that there won't be any ban. Queen releases on MX player tomorrow and Thalaivi releases on June 26.
