This quarantine could be tough, especially for the kids. So how do we compromise on a content level that even the adults in the family can enjoy, a bit of animation, fantasy, mystery, magic and all that. Presenting 11 movies that is sure to entertain everyone in a family.
FROZEN:
No animation list is ever complete without Frozen in the foray, Anna and Elsa are here to entertain no matter how many times you’ve seen it. The musical entertainer is high on emotion and magic; if you have a good stereo system, sure to be enticed.
HUGO:
A slow adventure classic from Martin Scorsese is an emotional tale of a orphan who lives in Paris railway station. With too many adventures, fantasy and animation movie around; Hugo is different in its approach of an innocent kid two centuries ago.
LIFE OF PI:
Life of Pi is a must if you have a good home theatre with a giant screen and 5.1 sound setup. The visuals are stunning, the tiger is as real as it could get. The kids will enjoy it and surely the grand parents too.
JUNGLE BOOK:
Jungle book is yet another enjoyable tale from the forests of India. Mowgli, Bagheera and Share Khan’s testing tale of friendship, loyalty is classic in every aspect. With high level of CGI and motion capture, Jungle Book can be a good afternoon watch. Obviously you might miss the 3D, but still worth it.
MINIONS:
Who wouldn’t love these yellow mini version of Vadivelu, lovable little beings indeed. From Keychains to wall papers, these unusual characters find their way inside everybody’s hearts. Guranteed laughs. Oh and if you are not satisfied with Minion dose, might as well watch the Despicable series too.
ZOOTOPIA:
Follow your heart, for anyone can choose what they want to become. A touching yet funny tale of a Rabbit and a fox who break stereotypes on an adventure. The move is so entertaining that 90 minutes is a breeze.
ENCHANTED:
This is when fairy tale meets modern world. A romantic musical comedy film is when a princess from a fairy land somehow enters the tangible world and finds her love in the most unusual yet satisfying way. Note : The song “How does she know…” this is simply the best!
TOY STORY series:
Woody’s four-part adventure across almost three decades are surely one of the best series movies that you wouldn’t regret watching. Let your kids watch this and am sure they will develop a soft spot for Toys, probably would think twice before breaking them.
HARRY POTTER SERIES:
The boy who braved and conquered the dark lord, would do anything for his friends amidst all the magic is anybody’s fantasy. A compelling bunch of movies that does justice to the books.
ALVIN AND CHIPMUNKS
How cute would it be if squirrels can talk? A step further, dance and sing? Alvin and his never ending naughtiness with his friends are such a delight to watch. Netflix also streams the series, so a family entertainer is certainly on the cards.
INCREDIBLES 1 & 2:
A family of supers, that’s what is Incredibles. A perfect for a modern-day family that tries to shuttle work and balance personal life. Watch both the parts for a dose of humor and animation.
If the lockdown doesn’t end or you have run out of above options; you can also watch; Finding Nemo, How to train your dragon, Lion King, Charlie and Chocolate factory, Ice age series, COCO, Shrek series, Adventure of Tin Tin, Polar express too are good.
