Actress Nushrratt Bharuccha is signing one project after another these days. Although her most popular roles were in the 'Pyar Ka Punchnama' movies. The series was widely popular for its relatable humor but it was also criticised for poorly handling female characters. The fame recieved through these movies wasn't all good for Nushrratt. She played a manipulative girlfriend in the first part and a self centered ingnorant girl in second.

In a recent interview, she revealed that people associated her character with her real life personality and started hating her. "Everything in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 1 and 2. People hated me, that’s what it was. The fact that they actually believed I was that girl in real life, which is why I did that role that well,” she said.

Filmmakers even refused to acknowledge her talent and speculated that her characters are a projection of herself. She shared, “They said, ‘Nahi, yeh talent nahi hai, yeh waisi hi hai toh iss wajah se aise role karti hai (this is not talent, she does such roles because she is like that too).’ Even in real life, people think I am like that. I am like, ‘Hi, can you not understand that there could be a thought, process and skill that maybe I put to use?’”
