Badminton world champion PV Sindhu recently left the national camp organized for Olympic medal hopefuls. She is currently in London. A national daily, however, reported that Sindhu had left India because of a rift with her family members as well as with Pullela Gopichand.
The Badminton champion on Tuesday took a strong exception to the report and explained herself. "I came to London a few days back to work on my nutrition and recovery needs with Gatorade Sports Science Institute. In fact, I have come here with the consent of my parents and absolutely there were no family rifts in this regard," Sindhu said.
She looked particularly miffed with the suggestion in the report that she has developed misunderstandings with her parents. "Why will I have problems/issues with my parents who have sacrificed their lives for my sake? Mine is a very close knitted family and they will always support me. I am in touch with my family members everyday," Sindhu added.
The report also said that Sindhu has had differences with Pullela Gopichand, her coach. "I do not have any issues with my coach Mr Gopichand or the training facilities at the academy," Sindhu clarified.
She threatened to initiate legal proceedings against the reporter for spreading lies.
