A documentary is being made on India's former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao. A tall Congress leader, he literally saved India as the PM by heralding economic reforms against all odds. Directed and independently produced by Sravani and Srikar, the documentary is an "objective assessment" of the man and his times.

It talks about how PV roped in Manmohan Singh as his Finance Minister. The tempestuous equations between him and Sonia Gandhi are also touched upon.

"This film is an insiders' account of his life, narrated by prominent people ranging from freedom fighters who fought alongside PV against the Nizams to politicians, economists, diplomats, journalists, authors and his family members. It is an untold story of how circumstances changed PV and how PV changed the circumstances," the makers say.

"The film contains rare archival footage, photos and gives a new perspective on many issues of our times. To maintain objectivity, the film does not use voiceover narration," they add.
