‘Pushpaka Vimanam’: Bollywood producers compete for remake rights

‘Pushpaka Vimanam’, starring Anand Deverakonda, Sunil, Saanve Megghana and others, is attracting youngsters and family audiences to theatres. While its BO performance is a shot in the arm for producers and exhibitors, there is another fact that is proving that the comedy thriller is a well-made and well-written movie.

Demand for its remake rights is going up in Bollywood days after its theatrical release. At least three producers have watched the Damodara directorial and feel that its Bollywood remake will be a worthy one.

What is ticking for ‘Pushpaka Vimanam’? “The story blends situational comedy with an interesting crime twist. The screenplay is superb and therefore, three Bollywood banners have evinced a keen interest in owning the rights. An update about the progress in the talks will be given soon,” a source tells us.

With the ‘word of mouth’ being positive for the movie, all sections of audience are watching it in theatres. Since the comedy thriller has got a positive message concerning women, ‘PV’ is also a critically-acclaimed outing.
