Leading Telugu hero Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa' released in the year 2021 became a huge success across India and at the global market. The film directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers was made on a budget of around Rs.200 crores and collected over Rs.400 crores.

The sequel to the film 'Pushpa : The Rise' is currently under productions with the principal cast remaining the same namely Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, Sunil and others. Sai Pallavi is said to be the new addition to the cast while actress Sreeleela is expected to do an item number similar to the monster hit "Oo Antava" that featured Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Devi Sri Prasad is retained as the music composer.

Mythri Movie Makers has officially announced the release date of 'Pushpa 2' on Thursday,15th August 2024. It was already reported that Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' directed by Shankar is also eying the same date. If that is the case then there will be a major clash by these two pan Indian biggies on the same Indepenence Day weekend. Lets wait and watch how this pans out.
