"We consume unhygienic street food without worrying about the side effects. We smoke cigarettes with gay abandon. After devouring a whole bottle of liquor, we don't seek the doctor's second opinion before consuming the second bottle. But we have worries about the safety of the vaccine, which is made by scientists and approved by the WHO," the 'Liger' director said.
The 'iSmart Shankar' director said that every medicine has got one or another side effect. "Many are avoiding vaccines believing that they are leading to blood clots. But it's an extremely rare side effect. Scientists somewhere have found out that blood clots have a number of causes," Puri said.
Blood clots has been seen as a side effect in extremely few cases for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which anyways is not being served in India.
Puri added that there is nothing better than a vaccine. "If you run a fever after receiving a vaccine, it means it's working on your body. Don't hesitate to take your dose. A lot of vaccine units are getting wasted. If we don't wake up, India will see the third wave," the director warned.
