Puri Jagannadh's 'iSmart Shankar' goes on the floor today.  It's going to be a massive schedule, a long one at that.  The director is known for working at a breakneck speed.  So, the production works could be over before the end of March.  The film, starring Ram Pothineni as the hero, is scheduled to be released in May. 

Meanwhile, the way Ram's character is being marketed is creating interest among Puri's fans.  'Double Dimaak Hyderabadi' is how Shankar has been described.  The street-smart hero must be ultra-aggressive in the true Puri tradition.  

Ram's funky costumes sit well with the unconventional title and characterization.  

Music is by Mani Sharma.  Raj Thota has been roped in to crank the camera. The film will have Puneeth Issar, Satya Dev, Milind Gunaji, Ashish Vidyarthi and Get-up Srinu in supporting roles.
