Acclaimed director S.P.Jananathan’s Purampokku that has Arya and Vijay Sethupathi playing the lead roles is rapidly progressing. The film was shot in some unique and risky locales and the producers have insured the entire film.

Speaking about this to a leading newspaper, Jananathan said that insuring an entire film is a little known practice in Tamil film idnsutry while there are producers who insure some parts of the film. But the makers have decided to fully insure the film because the shooting involves a lot of risks.

The film has been shot in snow filled Himalayas and sultry desert of Rajasthan. A risky train stunt sequence was also shot in Rajasthan. The director added that generally Insurance companies would not agree to cover fight sequences but Purampokku’s insurer has covered the stunt scenes also.

Purampokku stars Karthika Nair and Shaam in important roles. Music is being scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja while Ekambaram handles the cinematography. The film is being produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Binary Pictures.
