Man kills daughter with iron rod and commits suicide

An NRI girl, who had come to India to visit her parents in their Amritsar residence, was allegedly hit on the head with an iron rod by her father, causing her to die on spot. Following that, the father hanged himself from a ceiling fan in the Gulmohar Avenue.
David Masih (60), a retired engineer, seemed to have suffered from depression, which led him to act recklessly with his daughter. Niloufar (35) succumbed to her injuries from the hit soon after. The incident happened on Sunday morning when the victim’s mother had gone to a nearby church for Sunday prayers.
A concrete reason for the crime has not yet been determined, while the police are investigating the proper cause of the two deaths.
