Noted director P.Vasu of Tamil and Kannada films is taking up a Kannada film for Sivaji Productions in which power star Puneeth Rajakumar is playing the lead role. P.Vasu's last film Kannada was 'Aptha Mithra' (Starring Dr.Vishnu, Ramesh Aravind, Soundaraya, Prema and others) that was a super hit film in the box office. The same Kannada film was remade in Tamil by superstar Rajanikanth in 'Chandramukhi' that recorded bumper crop in the box office was also directed by P.Vasu.

Director P.Vasu narrated the script of Sivaji Productions to Puneeth Rajakumar and Raghavendra Rajakumar at Dr.Rajakumar's residence recently. This is the first Kannada film production of Sivaji Productions. P.Vasu is currently busy in Chennai with 'Kuselan' starring Tamil superstar Rajanikanth.

Although the launch of Puneeth Rajakumar and P.Vasu combination is taking place in 2009 the power star of Kannada cinema Puneeth Rajakumar is doing a film for home banner in the gap of 'Mayoora' that was shelved with the demise of director Shoban. For producer R.S.Production Puneeth Rajakumar in place of 'Mayoora' is doing a film but that is after his two more assignments.

After the home banner film Puneeth Rajakumar is appearing in the title role 'Poli' that will be directed by hat trick director Prem (who had a recent debacle in his debut acting and his fourth film direction of 'Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melidhe') for producer Suresh Gowda. Soon after this Puneeth Rajakumar will be doing a film in the direction of top director Yogaraj Bhat. Puneeth has missed two earlier films of Yogaraj Bhat 'Mungaru Male' and 'Gaalipata'. The third time he will not miss the opportunity it is believed. For Puneeth and Yogaraj Bhat combination the producer is Rockline Venkatesh.
