Ajith's Aalwar did not make it big in the Tamil box office. But the movie managed to garner good opening thanks to the actor's charisma. Directed by debutant Chella, the movie featured Asin opposite Ajith.

Now efforts are on to remake the film in Kannada.

Popular Kannada actor Puneeth has expressed his desire to do the Kannada remake of Aalwar. In the recent past, several Tamil films were redone in Kannada and quite few of them have gone on to become hits.

Aalwar is an action-packed entertainer with the hero on a revenge mode.
