40 personnel of the Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) lost their lives two years back on February 14th. The nation has taken to social media to remember the martyrs who lost their lives and their families.
On that fateful afternoon a convoy of 78 buses carrying 2500 CRPF jawans was moving towards Srinagar from Jammu when the 22 year old suicide bomber Adil Ahmad Dar drove a Maruti car laden with explosives and rammed into one of the buses which exploded.
As the entire population of India grieved, the army retaliated by conducting airstrikes on Jaish-e-Mohammed' camps in Balakot in Pakistan which claimed the Pulwama attack a few days later.
Several persons in connection with the Pulwama terror attack have been arrested so far and in March 2020 a 150m feet tunnel connecting India and Pakistan was discovered which is said to have been used by Mohammad Umar Farooq, JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar’s nephew to enter the country and unleash his terror on Pulwama.
