Pulwama-Balakot then, Disha-related encounters now

In February this year, when Pakistan-based terrorists assassinated about 45 CRPF jawans in Kashmir's Pulwama, India convulsed with anger. It was demanded of the government to avenge the savage act by the India-hating Pakistan.
Something similar happened, albeit on a small scale, when Disha was brutally raped and murdered by four perverts in the last week of November, in Hyderabad. Public anger was at its peak. Big names such as Chiranjeevi called for public hanging of the monsters.
When Indian Air Force attacked Pakistan days after the Pulwama carnage, India celebrated it. "Justice served" became the common refrain. From movie stars to ordinary people, everyone hailed the bravery of our soldiers and the courage of the government.
A similar sentiment has been witnessed ever since yesterday's four encounters of Disha's rapists. From movie stars to ordinary people on the streets, everyone is hailing the heroism of policemen and the courage of the KCR government.
Importantly, the sentiment of revenge had pervaded all classes of society without exception in both cases.
