At the scary times of Coronavirus pandemic, the situation has been very critical with even the frontline fighters, the doctors getting infected by the virus from the patients they get to treat, and this has left the medical community in fear.
In an attempt to reduce/ avoid doctors getting exposed to patients, the Pudhukottai government hospital has a testing set-up where the testing room door will be closed, with two holes on a glass wall through which doctors can put their hands out to take samples from the patient, on the other side of the wall.
The doctor will be equipped with all protective gear to avoid infection, and due to this setup, even if the patient coughs or sneezes, doctors don't get exposed to droplets. After every patient gets tested, the area will be disinfected and only after half an hour, the next patient will be allowed for sample testing.
