Public caning alone can frighten rapists: Pawan Kalyan

Pawan Kalyan has on Saturday opined that the rape of the 8-year-old Asifa in J&K proves once again that the safety of girls/women is abysmal in our society.
"Even in broad daylight, women are not safe. Nirbhaya Act was passed when a rape rocked Delhi. Our MPs react only when something happens in Delhi, in front of their eyes. I tried to help Sunitha Krishnan garu, an activist, in her fight against rapes in Hyderabad last decade," Pawan Kalyan said. "They say films influence men to rape. Which film would have influenced those men to rape an 8-year-old?" Pawan asked.
As the leader of Jana Sena, Power Star proposed that public caning should be introduced in India to scare potential rapists. "Only Singapore-style caning can instill fear in these monsters. A judge recently opined that castration of genitals should be the punishment for rapists. But Jana Sena proposes public caning. Only public humiliation can alter these lecherous men," Pawan said.
Jana Sena will stage a dharna today in Hyderabad against Asifa's tragic rape.
