A month after banning 59 Chinese apps including TikTok and UC Browser citing security concerns, the Indian government is now likely to ban over 275 other apps in the country. Among the 275 apps that will be scrutinized by the government, it is reported that the most popular PUBG Mobile has a place on the list. Only apps that pose an overt security risk will be banned, though.
PUBG is one of the most popular smartphone mobile games in India and many other countries. In India alone, the app records over 175 million downloads. Developed by a South Korean video game company called Bluehole, a considerable amount of share in the game is owned by Chinese multinational conglomerate Tencent. Much to the dismay of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale fans, other Tencent holdings such as Supercell are on the list too.
