PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi landed in trouble after an outburst over the Ligue 1 team’s elimination from the Champions League allegedly led him to threaten a Real Madrid staff member.
As per reports, the incident happened at the Santiago Bernabeu following PSG’s 3-2 aggregate loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg. After the match, Al-Khelaifi apparently went down to the locker room where he was hitting and yelling while looking for the referees and then had an aggressive interaction with the officials. The PSG president’s outburst was also caught on tape by a Real Madrid staff member, who had been recording everything in and around their stadium in Spain as part of a new documentary.
The incident being recorded by the Real Madrid member allegedly led to Nasser Al-Khelaifi breaking officiating equipment in rage and threatening to kill the former. The situation apparently got so out of hand that the police and the PSG president’s bodyguards had to intervene. The UEFA has now opened disciplinary proceedings against Al-Khelaifi.
