For many, dogs transcend the role of mere pets, becoming cherished family members. Such is the case for S Sathish in Bengaluru, whose unwavering bond with his canine companion, Hayder, proved unyielding even in the face of a jaw-dropping offer of Rs 20 crore. Hayder, a remarkable Caucasian Shepherd standing at an impressive 6 feet, commands attention with a stature akin to that of a female lion, as proudly attested by Sathish.
The extraordinary canine, a singular breed within the Caucasian Shepherd category, captivated the interest of a Bengaluru-based builder from Hyderabad, who extended the astronomical offer. Despite the tempting sum, Sathish staunchly rejected the proposition, choosing to showcase Hayder at the prestigious BRS Grandeur Convention Centre in Bengaluru instead. This lavish event not only places Hayder in the spotlight as the showstopper but also features a unique canine fashion show, adding an element of glamour to the occasion.
Named after the Cadaboms Foundation, an organization founded by Sathish, the Caucasian Shepherd embodies the Foundation's commitment to scientific and systematic dog breeding. The foundation, extending its influence beyond Bengaluru to cities like Pune, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, and Mumbai, aims to provide valuable insights into top dog breeders.
Contrary to misconceptions surrounding a purported INR 20 crore purchase, Sathish clarified that he personally bred Hayder, even acquiring the canine's grandparents from Russia. Describing Hayder as an amiable companion, Sathish highlighted the dog's living arrangements—a well-appointed air-conditioned 2BHK residence with a dedicated caretaker. At 1.5 years old, Hayder proudly assumes the role of a father to six adorable puppies.
In an exclusive interview, Sathish expressed his unwavering commitment to Hayder, emphasizing the canine's irreplaceable status among his beloved pets. Anticipating an introduction to the global stage through dog shows, Sathish recognizes the unique qualities of the Caucasian Shepherd, emphasizing the need for proper training due to its guardian nature. While typically devoted and loving, these dogs can exhibit fierceness in the face of perceived threats, underscoring the importance of responsible ownership. Moreover, Sathish acknowledged the challenge of India's hot and humid climate for a breed with such a thick fur coat, advising prospective owners to consider this factor before bringing a Caucasian Shepherd into their homes.
