In a shocking and deplorable development, it has been found that Kishan Modugumudi (34), a businessman of Indian origin living in Chicago, has been involved in a high-end prostitution racket. His victims are Telugu cinema's less-known actresses.
As per an American media house, Kishan used to work for rich clients (mostly Indian?) in the US by getting the actresses have sex with them. He is learned to have developed contacts in Tollywood as a co-producer of several films. The unnamed actresses are said to be not-so-popular ones. The US authorities have kept the identity of the victims (actresses) under the wraps.
How and when did the racket come to be discovered? A Tollywood actress, who was constantly harassed and threatened by Kishan for not submitting to his diktats, had complained to the police in April. A detailed charge sheet with the District Court in Chicago has since been filed against both Kishan and his wife, who also is an accused.
Arrested by federal agencies, the guilty haven't got a bail till now.
The actresses in question were paid USD3000 for each sexual encounter. Kishan used to put them up in an apartment. One of the actresses lived in the US without meeting proper Visa formalities.
The clients would be discovered by Kishan at cultural events and conferences. The actresses would be "advertised" at these events for sex!
