A sex racket has been earned in Yadagirigutta, near Hyderabad. When the police found a few school uniform-wearing girls confined in a house, they had got suspicious. Upon preliminary investigation, they found that the girls had been injected with hormones. Out of the 11 girls rescued, 4 of them are below the age of 7. The colony from which they were rescued is notorious for brothels.
So far, 8 traffickers, six of whom are women, have been arrested after the shocking discovery.
It's a case of human trafficking. The arrested individuals had bought the girls from parents belonging to economically-poor families. The involvement of agents is suspected. Anything between Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh was paid by the traffickers for each girl.
Why were hormonal injections given to the girls? The idea was to expedite their physical growth process so that they are ready for sex trade! The traffickers had been paying a doctor anything between Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000 for administering such injections.
The traffickers enrolled the 11 girls in a neighbourhood school if only to make everyone believe that they are indeed their children. But the running away of a girl from the clutches of one of the traffickers turned out to be their undoing.
