Last year's super hit social satire 'Joker' which won unanimous critical acclaim has added more glory to Tamil cinema in the form of two National awards. The film has won the award for Best Tamil Film and the Best Male Playback singer for 'Jasmine-u' song by Sundar Ayyar.

After the announcement of the awards, S.R.Prahu the producer of 'Joker', writer-director Raju Murugan, music director Sean Roldan and the film's lead actor Guru Somasundaram met the press and media.

Raju Murugan said, "I wished to make a good film. The film getting released in theaters required the cooperation of various people is itself an achievement. 'Joker' has given emboldened people to voice out their opinions independently. I am happy about that. The film's hero Guru Somasundaram is a great actor who is on par with Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui."

Producer Prabhu said, "I am happy that Joker as a film has won a National award. But all of us expected National award for our hero Guru Somasundaram. It would have been much happier if he was also awarded."

The young and energetic producer also revealed that he has plans to remake the film in other languages.

Guru Somasundaram said "Script, music, performances, production and every other thing was good in this film.I am happy that I played a part of this film."

Music director Sean Roldan said " I predicted a National Award for this film as soon as Raju Murugan narrated the script to me. Sundara Ayyar finished recording the National award winning 'Jasmine' song within 20 minutes. He brought new innovations in the song and added more emotions."
