Coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown has resulted in closure theatres, cancellation of shootings and has ruined the whole business structure of Tamil Film industry which is reeling under heavy losses of several hundred crores.

While several stars like Vijay Antony, Harish Kalyan came forward to reduce their salary considering the pandemic situation and the financial troubles of producers, recently there was a rumour that the producers council has decided to cut salaries by half for every artist post Pandemic.

Clarifying this, popular producer SR Prabhu has tweeted that a discussion took place but no decision has been made. His tweet read "A group of producers including me discussed online on post Covid scenario. Decided to discuss with various associations and find a mutual solution on production expenses including salaries. No decisions made other than that!".
