The Kerala Film Producers’ Association had decided to ask its members not to sign actor-script-writer Sreenivasan for any of their future projects. The decision came following the complaint from producer Vindhyan, who alleges that the actor-scripter denied to payback the advance of seven lakhs paid for writing scripts for a movie, even after the project was abandoned. Vindhyan is said to have paid the actor this amount, 11 years ago.

Meanwhile AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes) and FEFKA (Film Employees’ Federation of Kerala), which had formed a coalition with the producers’ association against the Macta Federation, has objected to its decision to boycott Sreenivasan. In a combined statement, office bearers of both these associations has called for initiating efforts to settle the issue by discussions,

Interestingly, Vindhyan was the producer of the hit film ‘Vadakkunokki Yanthram’, the first directorial venture by Sreenivasan, which also won a state award for best feature of the year.
