Director Venkat Prabhu`s maiden production venture Chennai 600028 II: Second Innings` is all set to hit the screens on November 10. The release date was announced when he met the Press yesterday (September 13) along with his cast and crew members. The notable absentee was young hero Jai who has played one of the lead roles in the film.
Producer T.Siva of Amma Creations banner is not happy with a young or relatively new heroes avoiding promotional events of their films and while addressing the gathering, he proved his point by making an analogy with Thala Ajith who stopped attending any events related to his films before a few years.
"Ajith sir follows a policy of not coming to any events related to his films. He has set some boundaries for himself. I have criticised this in the past. Lately, I realised that this leverages the hype for his films. One of the main reason for the tremendous opening for Ajith starrers is that he is available to see only on the screens. It is, of course, a beautiful policy. But he adopted that only after reaching a certain stage. If you follow that while during the entry stage itself, no one will know who you are. I hope people take this in the right sense. You can do that when you command a market, a set of the audience as a strategy to increase them. People should not think well in advance that they are the next Ajith. He is the only one. He has attained this stage after so many struggles."
While Siva was speaking this without mentioning the name. A reporter asked whether he was referring to Jai. For this the producer said "Yes. Please write it as Jai". He further said, "He (Jai) may well stick to his policy but not for Venkat Prabhu."
It is worth noting that Jai was elevated as a lead hero by Venkat Prabhu in his debut directorial Chennai 600028` the blockbuster flick of 2007.
