Producer Ramesh Kumar Jain went missing since November 27th and his son Rakesh unable to trace him lodged a missing person complaint with the police. On investigation, the body of the 62 year old was found in a stormwater drain near Kengeri Railway station in Bengaluru. The deceased has produced a few Kannada movies and also owned a plastic factory in Mylasandra in Bengaluru
Rakesh said that his father last said that he was going to collect rent from his friend Nazeer who lived in their house in Deepanjali Nagar. Cops called in Nazeer for inquiry and he first told them that Ramesh a friend of 25 years said he is coming to collect the rent but did not turn up. The suspicious cops grilled him and then he confessed that he had rented Ramesh Jain's house for the past ten years but could not pay rent regularly on time and the owner had threatened to evict him.
On that day the argument between Ramesh Jain and Nazeer apparently became heated. In anger Nazeer with the help of his wife Shabeena Taj, daughter Heena, Islam Khan, Abdul Hashim, Syed Ahmed, and Mohammad Zuber strangled and murdered Ramesh and then threw his body into the drain. All seven accused have been arrested by the Bengaluru police.
