Producer Nag sets a healthy trend

Akkineni Nagarjuna shall be hailed as a producer who famously let his director Vijayendra Prasad to tell the story according to his (director's) convictions. Even if it meant keeping him from the screen for the whole of first half. Yes, you will not see Nagarjuna for a good 55 minutes in the first half in Rajanna! But, when he makes the first entry just before the interval bang, he makes it in a swashbuckling style.

At the special screening of the film held today for press members at Prasad Labs, the film seemed to entertain one and all. The audience were heard appreciating the guts of Nagarjuna in making an inspirational film. More so, for his broad-mindedness in allowing Vijayendra Prasad the freedom to tell the story honestly. Rajanna is a brave film, some of them remarked.

Our prediction is that Rajanna will be remembered, among other things, for the sheer novelty of its format (go find it in theatres) and the extraordinary music and background by MM Keeravani. Of course, Nagarjuna (title role) and Baby Annie (Mallamma) deliver mesmerizing performances.

The film is releasing tomorrow (Dec. 22) across the world. Shot in the rural backdrop, the film boasts of superb fights by SS Rajamouli.
