Producer KT Kunjumon announced 'Gentleman 2' in 2020. It is a sequel to ace director Shankar’s 1993 vigilante film Gentleman featuring Arjun with music by AR Rahman. The sequel will be helmed by Gokul A. Now, it has been officially announced that popular Tamil and Telugu actor Chethan Cheenu will play the lead in Gentleman 2.

When asked about Gentleman 2, Chethan Cheenu said, "I consider it a privilege to get a chance to play the hero in a film produced by a legendary producer like Kunjumon sir. It was a great pleasure to get an opportunity in the second part of Gentleman, which changed the image of Tamil cinema. When I met Kunjumon sir, I was growing a big beard for the shooting of another film I was doing."

"But he asked me to trim my beard and come for the audition. Without thinking about anything else, I respected his word and trimmed my beard even though the chance was uncertain. Today I was thrilled to see the announcement that I am the hero. Not only the beard, even if they ask me to shave my head for this film, I will do that too," he added.

Chethan Cheenu recently worked in two untitled Pan Indian films directed by actress Kaveri Kalyani and ad film director Leela Rani respectively. His upcoming movie 'Vidhyarthi' directed by Madhu Madasu is slated to hit the screens soon. It is worth noting that he is playing twelve different roles in the film directed by Kaveri Kalyani. He is also acting in Tada and two other untitled films which are being made in Tamil and Telugu.

Nayantara Chakravarthy and Priya Lal are playing the heroines of Gentleman 2. Famous actors, actresses and technicians of Indian cinema are going to work in this mega-budget film which will be made in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. Maragathamani (A) MM Keeravani composes music and cinematography by Ajayan Vincent. Thotta Tharani and her daughter Rohini Thotta Tharani serve as art directors.
