Last week a group of theatre owners lead by distributor Singaravelan threatened to stall the release of Vishal-Kajal Aggarwal starrer Paayum Puli` directed by Suseenthiran and produced by S.Madhan of Vendhar Movies banner until their losses suffered on screening Rajinikanth starrer Lingaa` distributed across Tamil Nadu by Vendhar Movies are not compensated.

Reacting to this, a group of major Tamil film producers who hold important positions in the producers` council have lodged a complaint with the Chennai City Police Commissioner against Singaravelan.

In the complaint letter it has been alleged that Singaravelan has received the money due for him as compensation for the loss suffered over the release of Lingaa` and now he is threatening to stop the release of Paayum Puli` at the eleventh hour in order to usurp more money.

The council`s President Kalaipuli.S.Thanu, Secretary T.Siva, S.Madhan of Vendhar Movies, Vijay Murali, M.A.Subbiah, Madhan of Escape Artists, Raja Sundar and many others went in person to the office of the Police Commissioner and handed over the complaint against Singaravelan.

We can only hope that necessary action is taken to ensure that Paayum Puli` releases worldwide this weekend (September 4) as announced.
