The Tamil Film Producers Council met today and took strict decisions to curb piracy in theaters. All theaters in Tamil Nadu have been intimated that they should install CCTV cameras outside and inside the premises failing which after November 15th no new movies will be given for screening.

The TFPC has also insisted that the CCTVs should work without interruption 24/7 and henceforth two representatives will be present inside the auditorium for every show to supervise if any malpractices occur. It has been stated that it is the theater management responsibility to ensure that the cameras or video recording devices are allowed inside from the audiences. A video warning will be screened before every show informing the severe punishment for pirates. A new committee is set to be formed with members of both Producer Council and Distributors Association to ensure that the measures are implemented properly.
